She Grabs, Pulls My Manhood Anytime We Fight — Husband

A woman, Sukura, frustrated by her husband, Quadri’s irresponsible behaviour, has brought a divorce suit against him at Grade A Customary Court, sitting at Mapo, Ibadan Oyo State.

Sukura, in her suit, alleged that Quadri failed to take care of her and their children, adding that he was fond of beating and assaulting her.

The plaintiff explained that the defendant was a womaniser and constantly lavished his money on women, while he starved her and their children.

The plaintiff again said that the defendant was indifferent to their children’s education and never paid their children’s school fees.

Sukara told the court that peace had deserted her because Quadri always threatened to deal with her any time she brought his attention to his shortcomings.

Sukara, in addition to divorce, pleaded for their children’s custody.

She begged the court to make her husband responsible for their welfare.

She further requested an order restricting her husband from harassing, threatening, and interfering with her private life.

Quadri denied all the allegations Sukara brought against him, but acceded to divorce.

He stated that he and his wife always fought because of the strain they were experiencing in their finances.

He added that she had no regard for him.

Quadri stated that he and his wife were Muslims, but that his wife later started going to church without his permission.

Quadri admitted to beating his wife black and blue anytime they fought because she was fond of pulling his manhood, which he said was painful.

Sukura said: “My husband and I held an introduction ceremony after we courted for some months, and he paid my bride price.

“My life has been miserable since I got married to my husband.

“My husband is a womaniser. He neglects his duties in the home and runs after everything in the skirt.

“He lavishes money on strange women, while our children and I languish and suffer. I bear the brunt of our children’s welfare.

“He is indifferent to our children’s education and always dodges the responsibility of paying their school fees.

“He is not bothered if our children had enough to eat or looked healthy.

“He feels good having his lovers flocking around him.

“He beats me any time I draw his attention to his worthless lifestyle.

“He, in addition, took to threatening me and swearing to make a waste of my life.

“My lord, I am tired of my relationship with my husband, and I no longer want to go further in it.

“I entreat this honourable court to end our relationship and grant me custody of our three children.

“I also plead that the court mandates my husband to be in charge of our children’s welfare, giving feeding, education and health care, a priority.

“I further request an order restricting him from threatening me and interfering with my private life.”

Quadri, in his testimony, said: “I agree to divorce. My wife is rebellious.

“She still misbehaves despite paying her bride price.

“We are Muslims, but she suddenly stopped carrying out the Islamic rites and started attending church services, which is one of the reasons we fight.

“Our marriage has been experiencing issues because of a strain in our finances for some years now, and anytime I admonish her to persevere, she fights me.

“My wife always targets my manhood any time we fight.

“She will grab and pull it, thus leaving me to yell n pain.

I always go mad anytime she does this, and will beat her black and blue as a result.”

The president of the court, Mrs S.M. Akintayo, after she had heard both parties, stated that it was obvious that they had a valid customary marriage and the bride price was paid.

She further stated that since both parties had declared their wishes to put an end to their relationship, the court had no other option than to do so.

Ruling, Akintayo declared their union dissolved.

She put their three children in the plaintiff’s custody and mandated the defendant to be responsible for their upkeep.

She further released an order restraining the defendant from threatening and interfering with the plaintiff’s private life.

Ex-convict Arrested In Edo For Armed Robbery, Possession Of Firearm

The Edo State Security Corps (ESSC) has arrested a 45-year-old ex-convict, Owen Osas, for alleged unlawful possession of firearms and suspected involvement in a robbery incident.

Osas was reportedly arrested with a cut-to-size single-barrel gun during a covert operation along Fishpond Road in Eyean, Uhunmwonde Local Government Area.

The arrest reportedly comes barely a year after he was released from prison, where he had served time for illegal possession of firearms and other criminal offences.

Osas, who confessed to the latest crime, also admitted to being a member of the Eiye Confraternity.

Consequently, a victim of an alleged robbery incident, Reginia Izy, identified Osas as the person who robbed her a day before his arrest.

The victim narrated that the suspect had approached her residence around 8 p.m., pretending to be familiar before carrying out the attack.

‎The Deputy Commander Operations of ESSC, Richard Balogun, said the arrest was part of intensified efforts to rid Edo State of criminal elements.

‎Balogun explained that operatives conduct both overt patrols and covert operations to track and apprehend suspects.

He said, ‎“Our men are always on patrol. Some operate in plain clothes as part of covert strategies, while others are stationed at strategic locations.

“Osas, who is a former convict, was arrested with firearms and he also confessed to be a member of the Eiye Confraternity.”

Gunmen Kidnap Businessman In Ibadan

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a 60-year-old man in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The victim was kidnapped on Saturday while on his way to his residence.

The incident occurred at Jinarere, Alakia in Ibadan.

Public Relations Officer of the State Police command, Olayinka Ayanlade, when contacted, confirmed the incident.

Tragedy As Suspected Kidnappers Kill Young Entrepreneur In Edo

A 30-year-old entrepreneur and CEO of Principle Takeout, Justice Abu Oshioke, has been killed by suspected kidnappers in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.

He was reportedly attacked by the suspected kidnappers on Saturday while on his way to pick up an order made for his child’s dedication on Sunday morning.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers attempted to force him into a nearby bush in a kidnapping attempt. However, he reportedly resisted and tried to escape.

In the course of the struggle, the assailants opened fire, shooting him multiple times.

The tragic event has turned a joyous occasion into a moment of grief for the family.

The shocking development has left the Ekpoma community in deep sorrow, with many residents expressing outrage over the growing insecurity in the area.

Edo State Police Command’s spokesperson, Eno Ikoedem confirmed the incident and said the Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika has ordered a “full-scale investigation and intensified manhunt for those responsible.” 

According to her, the Police, in collaboration with the military, local vigilantes, and hunters, are actively pursuing the perpetrators through coordinated operations.
