Step-by-step Guide To Checking 2023 NECO SSCE Results

The National Examination Council on Tuesday released the 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination results.
According to the Registrar of the examination body, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, the result summary shows that 61.60 per cent scored five credits, including English and Mathematics.
12,030, representing 0.07 per cent, against 13,594, representing 0.13 per cent in 2022.
The Number of candidates who registered for the exam was 1,205,888, and the number of candidates who sat for the exams was 1,196,985.

1. Visit the NECO result-checking portal at https://results.neco.gov.ng/.
2. Select your examination year and the type (SSCE Internal, SSCE External, BECE, NCEE, and GIFTED).
3. Enter the token sent to the mobile number provided.
4. Enter your registration number
5. Click on the “Check my result” button.

Benue: Five Killed As Suspected Herdsmen Attack Ortese, Block Major Road

No fewer than five youths have reportedly lost their lives in a deadly attack attributed to suspected Fulani herdsmen in Ortese, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
According to local accounts, the assailants barricaded the Ortese–Yogbo road during the attack, ambushing and killing the victims at the scene.
Several other residents were said to have been forcibly taken to undisclosed locations.
The assault has sparked widespread fear in the community, with residents expressing concern over their safety as tensions continue to rise.

Community sources revealed that additional bodies are being found in nearby areas, further worsening the situation.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies have not released an official statement on the incident, although investigations are ongoing and efforts are underway to restore calm in Ortese and surrounding communities.

UBTH CMD Marks 120 Days In Office, Expresses Commitment To Providing Conducive Working Environment

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. (Mrs) Idia Ize-Iyamu on Tuesday reiterated her commitment to providing a conducive working environment for all staff members.
She spoke at a management and staff assembly, which marked her first 120 days in office.
Speaking during the assembly, Prof. Ize-Iyamu expressed her commitment to providing exceptional leadership and called on all UBTH employees to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in their duties.
The CMD highlighted key achievements and milestones attained since assuming office on August 18th.

She thanked the staff for their dedication and commitment to caring for and serving humanity, emphasizing that UBTH’s functionality relies on their continued efforts.
Prof. Ize-Iyamu also outlined significant interventions made within the hospital under her leadership, including the installation of a state-of-the-art 160-Slice CT Scan Machine, among other advancements aimed at enhancing the hospital’s capabilities and service delivery.
She noted that her administration has prioritized inclusion, accountability, and a renewed sense of direction.
“As we move into 2026, every HOD, unit, and department must develop their own actionable plans and timelines for achieving objectives in tandem with the UBTH-CARES agenda.
