Four other persons sustained varying degrees of injuries in the accident that occurred at about 2 pm.
An eyewitness who was identified as Sadiq told The PUNCH on Sunday that the victims who were being conveyed in a long vehicle had stood up while it approached the bridge in the area.

Sadiq said, “They (the victims) did not know that the height of the vehicle was closer to the bridge so they stood up while the vehicle was under the bridge.
“As soon as the vehicle gets under the bridge, they had a collision with it leading them to fall from the vehicle and their instant death.”
The spokesperson for the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident in a telephone conversation with The PUNCH on Sunday.
She stressed that the vehicle was overloaded with goods and passengers which contributed to the accident.

She said, “The accident happened at about 14:12hrs. Two people died while four others were injured. The vehicle was overloaded with goods and passengers which contributed to the accident.
“The victims’ bodies were deposited at a morgue.”
She however urged motorists to desist from the habit of overloading their vehicles while embarking on road journeys.
“By the design of the bridge, it can accommodate any vehicle, so for the passengers to have fallen shows that the vehicle was overloaded.
