Two Suspected Motorcycle Snatchers Lynched In Benue

Two suspected motorcycle snatchers were reportedly killed in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, on Friday.
The incident led to the recovery of stolen properties including over 1,000 motorcycles, sewing machines, grinding machines and other household items.
The recovered items were displayed by authorities for public identification as residents whose motorcycles or belongings were previously stolen were urged to visit the venue and check for their property.

Details surrounding the operation, including the security agency involved and how the suspects were apprehended, were not immediately provided.
There was also no confirmation on whether additional suspects were arrested or if investigations were ongoing.
Residents who expressed relief over the recovery of stolen goods, were also apprehensive concerning the rise in motorcycle thefts and the general security situation in Makurdi.
Spokesperson of the Benue State Police Command, DSP Udeme Edet, could not be reached at the time of filling this report.

Police, Military Comb Forests In Search For Abducted Niger Catholic School Students
Security agencies comprising police tactical units, military components and others have launched a search for the abducted students of St. Mary Secondary School, Papiri Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.
Terrorists had earlier invaded the school and went away with a large number of students and staff.
The Niger State Police Command, in a statement made available to DAILY POST by its spokesman, SP W. A Abiodun, said the incident occurred early hours of Friday.

“However, police tactical units, military components and other security agencies have moved to the scene, combing the forests with a view to rescue the abducted students.
“In view of this, the Commissioner of Police Niger State Command CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman reiterated the Command’s commitment to rescue the students unhurt, and appealed to members of the public to remain calm and support security operations to rescue the students,” the statement added.

Terrorists Invade Catholic School In Niger, Kidnap Students, Staff
Terrorists have abducted students and staff from St. Mary’s School, a Catholic institution in Papiri community, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State. The exact number of those kidnapped is yet to be confirmed.
A source, who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust on Friday, noted that the school was still compiling its records.
“Yes, it is true, but I am not in a position to give details. The church will issue an official statement later in the day,” the source was quoted as saying.

Efforts by DAILY POST to reach the Niger State Police Command failed at the time of filing this report.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, could not take his call when contacted.
This incident comes a few days after terrorists attacked a government school in Kebbi State, abducting at least 25 students.

NDLEA Intercepts Cocaine-laden Vessel From Brazil, Detains 20 Filipinos (VIDEO)
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, says it has intercepted a vessel carrying 20 kilogrammes of cocaine at the Apapa seaport in Lagos.
The spokesperson of the agency, Femi Babafemi, made this known in a statement, on Friday.
According to Babafemi, the vessel, MV Nord Bosporus, with registration number 9760110, arrived from Santos in Brazil.

He further stated that NDLEA officers discovered the class A drug buried under the ship’s cargo on Sunday, 16 November 2025.
The NDLEA spokesman added that the master of the vessel, Captain Quino Eugene Corpus, and 19 other Filipino crew members were taken into custody for investigation.
Babafemi maintained that the agency filed an ex-parte application in suit number FHC/L/MISC/1306/25 before Justice Musa Kakaki of the Federal High Court, Lagos, seeking detention of the vessel and crew.
