Varsity Don Urges Alumni To Support Activities Geared Toward Positioning Former Institution
Prof Henry Imhonde, Dean, faculty of social sciences, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, has called on alumni of tertiary institutions to contribute and support activities geared towards positioning their former institutions of leaning in a manner that encourages brand recognition.
According to him, alumni associations are expected to keep improving the quality of life in the area of wealth creation, education and socio belief which according to him are the basic for human existence.
The university don made this known why speaking as guest lecturer at a one-day public lecture and award night as part of activities to climax the celebration of the one-week activities organised by members of Auchi Polytechnic Alumni Association, APAA, Benin chapter, on Saturday in Benin City.
Speaking on the tittle ‘make an impact’, Prof Imhonde said, the psychological wellbeing of any individual is geared towards satisfaction which may likely come as a result of positively impacted actions of aluminus of same higher school of learning.
According to him, life is all about complementing each other and not competing, stressing that this should be what alumni stands for.
“I hear your president said you guys have given jobs and necessary support to your members and that is the right way to go.
“You people have done well for organizing such event, you visited some secondary schools and spoke to the young ones. That which you have done is mentoring and defining positive pathways for the younger ones.”
The chapter president, Nosa Odia, noted that the one week event was strategically designed to bring to the public the importance of technologically-based education.
“Technologically-based education is about hand and brain for development which logically negates the continuous unrealistic hopes for white collar jobs.”

The event feature the award presentation to senior pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, Lagos. Rev. Fidelis Ayemoba, for exemplary leadership and immense contribution to the growth and welfare of members of the association and humanity.
Other who received awards are Prof. Monday Omoregie, Mr. Omoruyi Akpata, Bldr. Aloaye Emmanuel for exemplary leadership and immense contribution to the growth and welfare of members of the association and humanity.
The association also gave financial support to two final year students from the department of Building technology and Painting of the polytechnic to aid their smooth academic exercise.
