VIDEO: Fire Guts Nollywood Actress Bidemi Kosoko’s House

Nollywood actress, Bidemi Kosoko suffered a loss on Boxing Day, December 26, when fire gutted her residence.

Bidemi’s sister Sola Kosoko-Abina shared the news of the tragedy on Wednesday via her Instagram account.

She also shared videos showing the damage done by the fire.

She wrote: “We thank God for his faithfulness, love and prospering our lives in the year 2023.

“It has become a tradition in my family to spend the 26th of December which is Boxing Day at our daddy’s place, where we all exchange and unwrap our gifts. So, this year, we decided to record the activities because it’s always fun merrying together with family.

“So Bidemi Kosoko, her husband, kids and her domestic staff were all at our daddy’s residence, so her apartment was locked up.

“In the middle of our merriment, we received an alarming call that Bidemi’s apartment was on fire as well as her neighbour’s apartment.

“In fact, myself, my dad and Bidemi were getting ready to attend another important event before we received the call. And what we got was what happened in the video.

Shola said the firefighters arrived and with the help of Bidemi’s friend, Taiwo and her husband they were able to put out the fire. Shola.

She added: “We were on different video calls watching the scenario, how the firefighter arrived, how her apartment was forced open and how they eventually put off the fire.

“Thanks to Bidemi’s friend, Taiwo Lawal and her husband who stay in the same estate and rushed there to assist. People in the neighbourhood showed love and support to ensure the fire was put out.

“We appreciate you all for your show of love and kindness. Such a thing will not happen to anyone again I pray.

“In all, we are thankful to God for sparing our lives as no one was caught in the fire. We shall witness the year 2024 in peace and joy. Please thank God for us. In all, we give THANKS TO HIM.”

NAF Air Strikes Destroy IED Factory, Terrorists’ Gun Trucks In Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) said on Thursday that its fighter aircraft operating under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) has destroyed an IED factory and terrorist gun trucks and eliminated dozens of fighters in Kwaltiri, within the Tumbuktu Triangle, Borno State.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations, said, “The 18 June 2025 airstrike followed intelligence reports of terrorist activity in the area.

“Surveillance confirmed the presence of an IED-making site and vehicles, which were struck in precision passes by NAF aircraft.

Two Women Docked For Allegedly Fighting In Public

Two women, Mariam Olajimoke, 52 and Esther Oladipupo, 54, were on Thursday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly fighting in public.

The duo, whose addresses were not provided, were charged with affray and conduct likely to cause the breach of peace, to which they pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Insp Kemi Oladapo, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Sept. 30, 2024 in Ibadan.

Oladapo said the defendants engaged in fighting in a public place and constituted nuisances as a result.

According to her, the defendants conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by engaging in such an act.

She said the defendants committed offences contrary to Sections 83 and 249(d) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 and two sureties each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Aug. 7 for hearing.

Again, Armed Men Attack Natasha’s Family Home, Police Arrest One

The Kogi State Police Command has arrested one suspect following another attack on the family home of the suspended senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

The suspect, identified as Jose Suberu, was reportedly apprehended at the scene of the attack in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, on Tuesday.

Confirming the development to The PUNCH on Wednesday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, said the suspect had confessed to being part of the attack.

The media office further alleged that Suberu, a native of the community and described as a ritualist, confessed that this was his third time participating in attacks on the senator’s family residence.

He was reportedly linked to political opponents of the lawmaker.

A mob reportedly attempted to lynch the suspect before he was rescued and handed over to the police.
