VIDEO: Tinubu, APC Leaders Attend 12th NEC Meeting

President Bola Tinubu and leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are attending the 12th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party.

The arrival of the President around 12: 20 pm marked the commencement of the meeting at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

Members of the committee arrived the meeting alongside the Acting National Chairman, Senator Abubakar Kiyari and other members of the National Working Committee (NWC) at hand to receive delegates to the meeting.

The meeting will be considering five memos for adoption.

They are the appointment of external auditors; the following of vacancies; the motion for dining offices; the nomination of the National Chairman; and the nomination of the National Secretary among other things.

The highpoint of the meeting will be the address by President Tinubu.

JUST IN: Pro-Fubara Lawmakers To Screen New Commissioner-nominee Monday

The Rivers State House of Assembly has invited another commissioner-nominee for screening and confirmation.

The invitation was contained in a Public Announcement signed by the Clerk of the Assembly, Dr G. M Gillis-West on Sunday and obtained by our correspondent.

The statement said the screening will be held on Monday at the Chamber of the Assembly in Government House by 10 am.

The statement read, “The Rivers State House of Assembly hereby invites the Commissioner nominee, Emmanuel Frank-Fubara, for screening and confirmation, and a member of the Rivers State Executive Council.

” The nominee is to come along with twelve sets of his Curriculum Vitae and the originals and photocopies of his credentials. ”

This is the third time the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led State House of Assembly loyal to Governor Fubara would be screening commissioner nominees.

Recall that nine commissioners, including Commissioner for Education, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Finance loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, had resigned from Fubara’s cabinet due to a deepening feud between the governor and his predecessor and estranged political godfather.

The two political leaders had been at loggerheads since the last quarter of 2023.

Edo Guber: Shaibu Reacts To Court Ruling Voiding PDP Primary

Former deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has said the Abuja Federal High Court ruling voiding the governorship primary of the PDP in the state vindicated his earlier statement that the party did not conduct a proper primary election.

He said: “I said it from day one that I have the authentic delegates and they voted for me on the day of the primary.

“I said that what happened that day at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium was a like a birthday party or a wedding reception because the real people that were supposed to vote were not there but with the court now I have been vindicated.

“I have been vindicated and I salute the judiciary. This is victory is for Edo people, it is for democracy and by the grace of God, we will take our state back from outsiders.”

Court Judgement: Join Okpebholo To Build A Formidable Force, APC Mocks PDP’s Ighodalo

The Edo State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to a Federal High Court judgement voiding the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary that produced Asue Ighodalo as the party’s candidate.

The Federal Court Abuja presided over by Justice Inyang Ekwo, voided the party’s governorship primary election that produced Asue Ighodalo as the governorship candidate of the party.

In a statement signed by Comrade Orobosa Omo-Ojo JP, Director of the APC Governorship Campaign Council’s Publicity Committee, the APC urged Ighodalo to join the party’s candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

The APC, as a progressive party, is calling on Mr. Ighodalo to join hands with Senator Monday Okpebholo to retake the state and reset it for prosperity,” the statement read.

The party outlined its commitment to addressing key issues such as food security, accessible and affordable healthcare, and fostering a thriving economy.
