The 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) festivities kick off on Friday with the Cultural Day event, marking the official beginning of the series of activities preceding the Award Night on Saturday.

Attendees grace the event, bedecking the venue with their exquisite traditional attire, presenting a captivating blend of African heritage and the glamour of the film awards.

Stealing the spotlight among the celebrities are the Akpofures (Neo and Venita), Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, media personality Symply Tacha, Kunle Remi, OAP, DOTUN and others.

The award night will see the return of IK Osakioduwa as host and live performances by talented music stars.

The 10th AMVCA will see winners emerge from 25 categories comprising 16 non-voting, nine audience voting categories, and recipients of two recognition awards – Lifetime Achievement and Trailblazer Awards.

The 10th AMVCA will see winners emerge from 25 categories comprising 16 non-voting, nine audience voting categories, and recipients of two recognition awards – Lifetime Achievement and Trailblazer Awards.

One of the standout nominations this year is ‘Breath of Life’, nominated in 10 categories.

They include Best Lead Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Writing in Movie: BB Sasore and Best Costume Design. Others are Best Cinematography, Best Director, Best Editing, Best Sound Design, Best Art Direction and Best Movie.

Maverick singer Seun Kuti has ruled out reconciliation with Afrobeats star, Wizkid, declaring that their rift is lifelong.

DAILY POST recalls that Seun Kuti and Wizkid fell apart after the latter claimed he was greater than Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti in response to the former’s directive to fans to stop comparing the Ojuelegba crooner to the late music legend.

When asked in a recent podcast if he has settled his beef with Wizkid, Seun Kuti said he can’t reconcile with the Starboy boss because he disrespected his late dad.

The host asked: “Have you and Wizkid settled your Beef?”

Kuti replied: “It is on for life. I don’t have anything to say about him but it is on for life. You don’t say things about my dad and then it is fine. There is no coming back from that.”

The actress who made the revelation in a Snapchat video on Sunday, stated that she stopped going to church because attention often shifted to her rather than the service.

While explaining that she’s always the one they take pictures of, the actress said she now joins church service online.

Popular Nigerian content creator, Shank has stirred reactions online after opening up about a personal clash with his mother over tattoos, while also revealing a fresh body ink linked to his “Lit Gang” identity.

The revelation surfaced in a recent viral video shared on his social platforms, where he recounted the moment he tattooed his mother’s name, “Oluremi,” on his arm.

According to him, what he expected to be an emotional moment quickly turned tense.

The day I tattooed my mum’s name on my arm, she started crying and quoting Bible,” Shank said.

He explained that his mother strongly opposed the act, citing religious reasons and warning him against marking his body.

“She told me, ‘did I ask you to draw my name? I don’t like it. Don’t do tattoo again. God said don’t mark your body,’” he recalled.

Shank, however, said he challenged her stance by pointing out what he described as a contradiction.

“I asked her, if you say I should leave my body the way God created it, why do you shave your hair? You that shave hair and me that draw tattoo, we are committing the same sin,” he added.

The content creator used the moment to advise young people navigating similar situations with parents, stressing the importance of independence when making personal decisions.

“Just make sure you’re independent before doing what your parents are not comfortable with,” he said.
