Why I Gave Up On Acting—Director Pink

Nigerian music video director, Praise Onyeagwalam, popularly known as Director Pink, has revealed why she gave up on pursuing her acting career.

The award-winning cinematographer explained that the humiliation and sexual exploitation of aspiring actors made her quit that career path.

In a recent interview with Hip TV, Director Pink said the humiliation of standing on long queues at movie auditions and shady calls from male filmmakers inviting her to compromising locations, made her switch career to become her own boss.

“I wanted to be an actress but the humiliation was too much. Long queues, shady ‘come to this location’ calls. I said ‘No.’ That’s when I chose to be my own boss,” she said.

Director Pink added that being a music video director is also challenging, but she is willing to make sacrifices for the career.

She urged upcoming music video directors to be patient and embrace delayed gratification, stressing that it took those at the peak years to achieve their current status.

British-Nigerian rapper, Joseph Adenuga, popularly known as Skepta, has expressed deep concern over the worsening injustice in his Nigeria.

Speaking in a video broadcast, the ‘Bad Energy Stay Far Away’ crooner appealed to celebrities and the international community to assist Nigerians in drawing the global attention to the injustices in Nigeria.

He explained that Nigerians are resilient but have been suffering injustice for long.

There is so much injustice in Nigeria. And whenever I can whether it is at my shows, verbally or images, whatever I can do, we are going to speak up for injustice at all time.

“This is my message to the people; please, I know that we [Nigerians] are resilient and we make everything look good, but we need help, too. Please, help us,” he appealed.

Music artiste, Ice Prince has addressed the criticisms over his controversial performance at the 2026 All Progressives Congress, APC, national convention.

Recall that Ice Prince faced backlash for performing at the ruling party’s national convention amidst escalating insecurity and economic hardship in the country.

His critics berated him for performing at partisan event instead of speaking up and demanding accountability from the current administration.

Reacting to the backlash in a recent episode of the Black Box podcast, Ice Prince explained that he performed at the APC convention because of his relationship with the party’s National Chairman.

Who booked me for that event? My uncle – Nentawe Yilwatda who is the APC Chairman. He is not just a random person to me. He is my real uncle,” he explained.

Nigerian singer and rapper, Ice Prince Zamani, has revealed that before quitting smoking, it was draining him financially.

Speaking in a recent episode of the Black Box podcast, the ‘Aboki’ crooner disclosed that between 2020 and 2026, he spent N340 million on weed from just one dealer.

He explained that the figure does not include other suppliers of his in Abuja, Jos, Ghana and London.

From 2020 to 2026, I have spent N340 million on weed from just one dealer alone, not to even mention my other dealers from Abuja, Ghana, Jos, and London. This is just one dealer, who lives close to me in Lagos,” he stated.

Ice Prince said he quit smoking and alcohol during his weight loss journey and self-discovery process.

He also revealed that he has been celibate for some time now.
