Michelle Jackson, the ex-wife of ace Nigerian music producer, Michael Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has revealed why their marriage crashed.
The PUNCH reports that Michelle, who is a United Kingdom-based model, returned to Nigeria in late April, 2022.
In an interview with Naija FM published on Friday, Michelle noted that music “got in the way” of her union with Don Jazzy, leading to the end of their two-year marriage.
“He just needed to go and be himself and go and do his music. Music got in the way of the relationship. We were very young as well,” Michelle said.
She added, “If I were in the same situation now, it might have been very different.”
The model noted that she was almost 22 years old at the time of the union.
When Don Jazzy first broke the news of his marriage in April last year, he revealed that he got married at 20 and ended the marriage when he was 22.
Michelle, who was also a singer, noted that she and Don Jazzy were both pursuing their music careers at the same time, adding that things became different when popular Nigerian singer, Abdulrasheed Bello, popularly known as JJC Skills, discovered her ex-husband.
She said, “We were both pursuing their music careers at the same time and then he got discovered by JJC Skillz. So it took him out of the home a lot more. I tried to put my music on the back burner to try and balance my home life. But he was ‘very’ into the music and it kind of got into the way.”
Her claims are not different from that of the producer who had earlier revealed that he gave up his marriage to pursue music.
“Music became a priority instead of my family,” Don Jazzy had said.
Following her recent visit to Lagos, Michelle had linked up with Don Jazzy.

Grammy-nominated afrobeat musician Seun Kuti has described his recent assault on a police officer that landed him in prison as a mere “misdemeanour charge.”
The singer stated this during an Instagram live session with fans recently.
Slamming those attacking him on social media over his assault on a police officer, Kuti said he was aware of Nigerian celebrities with felony charges, but fans never criticised them the way they did him.
He said, instead, fans celebrate and defend those criminal celebrities on social media.
He said: “I know at least three celebrities in Nigeria who have felony charges. Mine is a misdemeanour charge. Whether they talk as if heaven is falling and thunder is crashing, my charge is still a misdemeanour. If we are going to be just, assaulting a police officer is a misdemeanour. That is the charge I have.

“But felony charges—fraud, assault, rape—you people come online, and you fight for these people with felony charges. Real criminals.”
Kuti said someday he would rent the National Stadium for one week to apologise to Nigerians for any crime he might have committed against them.
Recall Seun Kuti was last week released from the State Criminal, Investigations and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, after spending eight days in detention for assaulting a police officer in a viral video.

Famous Afrobeat singer David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, has revealed why he performed at the inauguration ceremony of the Abia State Governor, Alex Otti.
Recall that a video of Davido’s performance in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, after the swearing-in of Alex Otti and his deputy, Ikechuckwu Emetu, on Monday surfaced on the internet.
Reacting to Davido’s performance, many Nigerians speculated that the new governor might be a waster of resources considering the amount of money that might have been spent to bring the musician to the event.

Seun Kuti, popular musician and the youngest son of the Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti has slammed comedian Ayo Makun, a.k.a AY, over his reason for not rejecting his national honour.
Recall that former president Muhammadu Buhari, through the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs on Sunday, listed comedian AY, singer Davido, actor Kunle Afolayan, Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and other celebrities among 337 Nigerians to be conferred with national honours on June 1st 2023.
Reacting to the announcement on Monday, AY, in a tweet, addressed critics who queried him for not rejecting the honorary award by the Federal Government, stating that a national honour is the highest recognition anyone could get.

Explaining why he will not reject the award, AY said, “Those of you shaming or asking me to reject ‘A National Honour’ are clearly missing a vital point. Our country is bigger and more important than any president or political party awarding it. National honour is the highest recognition anyone can get for his or her contributions to nation-building.
”So my allegiance is to a country where I have contributed my own quota, and I am more than happy to be rewarded by the same nation.”
Responding to AY in a post on his Instagram page and story, Seun Kuti described the comedian’s explanation as unnecessary. And taunted the comedian to receive his ‘Buhari’ award and stop explaining.
“Let me reiterate. No be public opinion poll them take dey choose national award na by presidential committee then the president will accept the nomination of certain people. In as much as it’s a national honour, it’s a presidential appointment. Biko, receive your BUHARI award and stop to dey Shalaye.

“This is what I hate about sellouts. Is it that you don’t have a chest, or you can’t do anything with the chest? Resist the URGE to SHALAYE (explain), Don’t try and dress HYPOCRISY as NATIONAL LOYALTY OR PATRIOTISM. With una 2 Homes and 2 Passports,” Seun Kuti said.
