The Lagos State Government has disbursed N40 million as support to the families and dependants of deceased officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) who died in the line of duty.

The presentation, coordinated by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, was held at the LASTMA headquarters in Oshodi, Lagos. At the event, 20 beneficiary families received N2 million each.

Giwa said the gesture was not intended as compensation for the loss of lives, noting that no amount of money could equate to the value of human life. He described the support as a symbolic and tangible recognition of the courage, dedication and sacrifice displayed by the fallen officers in the service of Lagos State.
