Call Oshiomhole To Order, Edo APC Tells Buhari, IGP

…State Government Responsible For Series Of Attacks – Osagie
A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, to call national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to order, alleging that he is responsible for all the violence in the state.
Factional Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Joseph Osagiede, while addressing newsmen in Benin on Monday, alleged that Oshiomhole “is hell-bent on pushing the state to the state of anarchy wherein state of emergency would be declared.”
He said the the National Chairman wouldn’t have tolerated all the “violence and lawlessness in his usual bravado and egocentric style of operation” if he were to be governor of the state.

He added, “It appears Comrade Oshiomhole is hell-bent on pushing Edo State to the precipice with the intention of creating the impression that law and order has effectively broken down in the state, so the state of emergency will be declared by the authorities.”
While alleging that the national chairman and his followers were responsible for series of attacks in the state of recent, Osagiede who loyal to Governor Obaseki, accused Oshiomhole of repeatedly disregarding the state government and other authorities concerned order, alleging that his action has “caused disruptions that have led to bodily harm to citizens.”
He continued, “The issues took another turn for the worst at the weekend when he along his lieutenants in the proscribed Edo Peoples Moment (EPM) resorted to the use of explosives and other dangerous weapons in some parts of the state, thereby endangering the lives of law-abiding citizens.”
Reacting to the allegations on behalf of Oshiomhole, a chieftain of the party, Samson Osagie, described Osagiede and the state givernment as “confused and irrational in taking their thoughts and actions to blame Oshiomhole for everything they have caused.”

While wondering why the state government gone so low in logic by thinking that Oshiomhole was responsible for all the attacks in the state, the former House of Representatives member alleged that the state government is responsible for the attacks recently in the state.
“The truth of the matter is that I do not know how they decided to put logic on its head, as the Governor who is realtor the security of life and properties has decided to blame other persons rather than itself.
“He has threatened time without number on violence over time and the state government is moving around to accuse those who are being attacked for being responsible for the attacks.
“Governor Obaseki and the state government at the moment have been so confused and irrational in taking their thoughts and actions to blame Oshiomhole for everything they have caused.

“Suffice it to say that Oshiomhole or those supporting him in every of their public statements have not issued threats, so the state government and itself are the ones responsible for the attacks and the public is aware of this”, he added.

Transfer: Premier League Clubs Scramble For Dele-Bashiru
Lazio midfielder, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is a subject of interest from three Premier League clubs, according to Sky Sports.
Lazio reportedly rejected offers from Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth for the Nigeria international in January.

He has been a regular feature for Lazio this season.

Xenophobic Attacks: Nigerian Students To Picket MTN, MultiChoice, Other Businesses
The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS South-West Zone D, has announced plans to picket South African companies in Nigeria following the ongoing xenophobic attacks in the country.
DAILY POST reports that some Nigerians were recently killed in South Africa over the violent attacks.
A statement issued to newsmen by Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, Coordinator, NANS South-West, Zone D, said that the association is mobilizing to take decisive and lawful action by organizing peaceful picketing and mass advocacy against South African business interests operating in Nigeria.

“We categorically state that the continued targeting of Nigerians under any guise is unacceptable and must come to an immediate end.
“This will include major corporations such as MTN Group and MultiChoice Group. It is morally indefensible for businesses to thrive in an environment where the lives of Nigerians are protected, while Nigerians are subjected to fear and violence elsewhere.
“This contradiction will no longer be tolerated,” the statement said.

N5m, N10m Zero-interest Loans: SheVentures Opens Applications For Women Entrepreneurs
First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has opened a new round of applications for its SheVentures proposition, offering zero-interest loans of up to ₦10 million to women entrepreneurs to ease access to working capital and support business growth.
The facility provides loans ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦5 million under a general category, and ₦5 million to ₦10 million for sector-specific businesses, with funding capped at up to 50% of an applicant’s average monthly turnover.
At the centre of the offering is a 0% interest rate, with all charges embedded in a transparent structure.
Repayment is structured over four or six months, allowing businesses to match obligations with their cash flow cycles.

Yemisi Edun, Managing Director and Chief Executive of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), said the initiative reflects a deliberate approach to inclusive growth.
“Inclusive growth requires access to capital and the right conditions for businesses to deploy that capital effectively.
“Women-led enterprises are critical to economic activity, yet they face structural barriers.
This intervention aims to help close that gap by providing financing that supports job creation, business expansion, and long-term sustainability for women entrepreneurs.”

Women-owned businesses account for a significant share of Nigeria’s small and medium-sized enterprises but continue to face high borrowing costs and limited access to credit.
Through these efforts, SheVentures tackles persistent financing gaps facing women-led businesses, combining targeted funding with broader support to empower women entrepreneurs, encourage business innovation, and enhance their ability to compete on a national scale.
