The Director- General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, has warned Corps Members deployed to Edo State to take their service year very seriously.
He gave this warning during a working visit to the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, Okada, Ovia North -East Local Government, Edo State.
Gen. Ibrahim said corps members deployed to the state should fully integrate with one another, which he said is one of the major objectives of the scheme to unite and integrate the Nation as one entity.
Hw “All corps members should take advantage of their deployment to the state to engage in activities that would add value to their lives and that of their host communities.
“You people should desist from activities innimical to your host communities especially those regarded as indecent dressing, alcohol consumptions, illegal drugs, Cyber crime and others anti-social behaviours. The only way you can leave in peace and harmony with your host communities is by accepting and respecting the people’s culture whole heartedly.
The DG enjoined all corps members to take the skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development training seriously adding that government would do well on its part to empower and motivate them in their various skills.
He warned corps members against embarking on unnecessary journeys and risky adventures during the service year and also charged course officials to always watch out for some prospective corps members with fake credentials.
