Edo Youths, Women Will Play Prominent Role In My Government, Says Ighodalo

PDP National Youth Leader, Mr. Muhammed Kadede, congratulates Dr. Asue Ighodalo, after receiving his certificate of return as PDP flagbearer in the Sept.21 governorship election, on Tuesday in Abuja.

Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party’s flagbearer in the Edo September 21 governorship election, recently held his first stakeholder consultation after he was officially given his certificate of return as the Candidate of the Party. This meeting, co-chaired with the Party’s National Youth leader, Mr. Muhammed Kadede, and his deputy, Timothy Osadolor who is from Edo State, emphasized the pivotal role of youth in Ighodalo’s government and highlighted his commitment to their empowerment.

Kadede assured Ighodalo of maximum mobilization of Edo youths to ensure his emergence as the next governor. He commended Ighodalo’s dedication to working with youths, describing him as someone who is genuinely committed to the welfare of the people and youths of Edo State.

Just before the event, Party National Chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum, who presented Ighodalo with the Certificate of Return, expressed confidence in Dr. Ighodalo’s ability, character, and charisma to win Edo for PDP. According to Damagum, the PDP is one and we organized and recognized only one primary in Edo State which produced Dr. Asue Ighodalo.

Ighodalo, in his address to the youths, said, “To the youths, it’s our time. By the grace of God and the will of the people of Edo State, we will run a government upheld by youths and with youths. Together, we will turn Edo into a state that everyone will be proud of. I will show leadership and direction. Our youths have promised that they won’t fail. We will show the rest of the world what we can achieve together as a people. We can become a first-world sovereign in Africa. I have seen the path and together, with your support and collaboration, we will achieve this.”

Furthermore, Ighodalo emphasized the importance of women in his government, stating that they too will be a focal point of his administration. He acknowledged the pivotal role women play in society and expressed his commitment to ensuring their active participation and representation.

The stakeholder consultation with the young people of the PDP party marks a significant step in Ighodalo’s campaign, showcasing his dedication to inclusive governance and youth empowerment in Edo State.

The 100th National Executive Committee meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party has reinstated Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the party’s national secretary.

Speaking to journalists after the NEC meeting held in Abuja on Monday, the PDP acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, announced that Anyanwu has been officially reinstated.

JUST IN: Dalori Chairs First APC NWC Meeting Following Ganduje’s Resignation

Following the resignation of former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Deputy Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori, is now presiding over his first National Working Committee meeting in his capacity as Acting National Chairman.

Dalori, along with several NWC members, is currently meeting at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.
