FG Inaugurates Presidential Delivery Tracker, Website

The Federal Government, on Tuesday, inaugurated the Presidential Delivery Tracker and an accompanying website developed by the Central Delivery Coordination Unit.
The PDT/CDCU is designed to track, review and periodically report the activities of MDAs, performances of ministers and permanent secretaries, among others, in the delivery of their ministerial mandates.
Key areas under review include economy, agriculture, energy, transportation, infrastructure, industrialisation, education, healthcare, security, anti-corruption, governance, poverty reduction and social inclusion which, since 2019, formed the ministerial mandates signed by Ministers and their Permanent Secretaries.
Speaking after the launch at the State House Banquet Hall, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha said the CDCU, will track the implementation of Policies, Programmes and Projects of Ministries along the nine Priority Areas of the Federal Government.

He assured Stakeholders that feedback received from both platforms would be given the deserved attention.
“PDT/CDCU App is a co-creation platform that aims to connect citizens to governance in Nigeria by increasing citizens’ access to the Federal Government’s Presidential priority policies, programmes, and projects.
“The goal of the PDT/CDCU is to promote transparency and expand access to reporting on presidential priority policies, programmes and projects. This is by incorporating citizens as the third layer of reporting to offer vital information that will facilitate effective service delivery.
“Over the last two years, the PDT/CDCU had successfully driven FG’s delivery initiative to incorporate a systematic feedback mechanism from the citizens into the design and operationalisation of its Performance Management System. This is in recognition of the critical roles of the citizens in promoting inclusive and citizen-centered governance,” Mustapha said.
According to him, the ‘Citizens App’ and the website will enable Nigerians to provide accurate feedback on the implementation of government’s programmes and projects closest to them.
He noted that Nigerians are mandated to participate in and monitor the coordination of Federal Government interventions in their communities.
“In addition, to also highlight critical issues regarding government programmes and projects that hinder the delivery of key services to citizens.
“The CDCU intends to empower citizens to make their voices heard, build a citizens engagement programme that works and participation that increases benefits, if discussed with the people. Government is already raising the bar for citizens participation,” he said.
In her remarks, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Dr Zainab Ahmed, said the MDAS must recognise the enormous premium placed on the assignment by the Federal Government.
She said, “The delivery unit members should be able to listen well and ask thoughtful questions that inspire implementing officials to develop solutions to their problems.

“They should be diplomatic and communicate helpfulness, as well as be able to summarize their analysis and observations succinctly for the most senior government leaders.
“As we aim to gradually close the gap between the different classes to bring joy to a greater number of citizens, the federal government remains committed to ensuring accountability and transparency, and I am confident that at the end of this administration, Nigerians will have experienced the deserved change that we promised”

“We categorically state that the continued targeting of Nigerians under any guise is unacceptable and must come to an immediate end.
“This will include major corporations such as MTN Group and MultiChoice Group. It is morally indefensible for businesses to thrive in an environment where the lives of Nigerians are protected, while Nigerians are subjected to fear and violence elsewhere.
“This contradiction will no longer be tolerated,” the statement said.
