Gunmen Kidnap Eight Persons In Edo

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly abducted eight passengers of a commercial busy between Okhuessan and Emu in Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo state.

The bandits also reportedly robbed all the occupants of the Toyota Hiace bus and dispossessed them of their valuables.

It was gathered that the hoodlums had emerged from a nearby bush within the area and took the red coloured bus to a corner before robbing all the occupants.

The name of the driver of the bus was given as Mr Osimen whose family house is said to be located by Freedom Street Junction at Ebhuru- quarters in Ubiaja.

A resident in the area said “all the occupants in the bus were from Ubiaza. All the males passengers and driver including threw aged women were left to go home after robbing them, while all the ladies which are between ages of 30 and 40 were taken away.”

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, said he was yet to be briefed about the development.
