I’m Not Aware Of APC Zoning Formula, Inly Want To Be Senate President – Yari

A former governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, has claimed that he knew nothing about the zoning formula of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in determining the leadership of the 10 National Assembly.
Yari stated this on Monday while addressing reporters on the sidelines of the induction ceremony of new and returning members of the National Assembly.
The former governor of Zamfara insisted he is only in the race to become the Senate President.
Recall that the APC, had nominated Godswill Akpabio and Jibrin Barau as Senate President and Deputy Senate President, respectively.

But, Yari claimed that every lawmaker has the right to seek elective positions.
He said, “I am a loyal party man, nobody has told me that any position has been zoned to anywhere as far as the 10th National Assembly is concerned.
“Position of president of the senate is first among equals among the 109 senators. Any senator-elect who wants to occupy the position must seek the support of others which I am doing,” Yari said.
