LG Congress: Oyo APC Holds Parallel Congresses In Ibadan

The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State took another dimension on Saturday when two factions of the party organised parallel congresses.

The local government congresses of the party were held across the country on Saturday.

It was, however, gathered that two factions of the party held parallel congresses in some parts of Ibadan, the state capital.

The parallel congresses of APC were held in Ibadan North local government area.

DAILY POST correspondent gathered that a faction of the party held its congress at Oke Apon in Yemetu area while another faction held their’s at Emmanuel College, Samonda area of Ibadan.

The Oke Apon congress was supervised by a national officer of the party from the state while the one held at Emmanuel College was supervised by a member of the House of Representatives, DAILY POST gathered.

At the end of the Oke Apon congress, Tirimisiyu Saka was elected as the APC Chairman for the local government.

26 other executive members of the party at the local government area were also elected.

The names of the winners of the congress held at Emmanuel College have not been released as at the time of filing this report.

Public Relations Officer of the party in the state, Dr. AbdulAzeez Olatunde confirmed the development to DAILY POST.

Olatunde in a telephone conversation with DAILY POST noted that the issue is a family affair.

He maintained that the crisis would soon be resolved.

Olatunde who spoke with DAILY POST Saturday night said, “There is no other reaction than to say that I am aware. Yes. I am aware.

“It is going to be resolved internally. It is not for public issue.

“We want everybody to express what is in their mind. At the appropriate time, it will be resolved.”

JUST IN: NEC Reinstates Anyanwu As PDP National Secretary

The 100th National Executive Committee meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party has reinstated Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the party’s national secretary.

Speaking to journalists after the NEC meeting held in Abuja on Monday, the PDP acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, announced that Anyanwu has been officially reinstated.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, will hold its National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting on 24th July, 2025.

Deputy National Secretary, Barr. Festus Fuanter, disclosed this after Monday’s National Working Committee, NWC, meeting.

DAILY POST reports that Umar Ganduje on Friday resigned as the party’s chairman and in his place, Ali Dalori was appointed in acting capacity.

JUST IN: Dalori Chairs First APC NWC Meeting Following Ganduje’s Resignation

Following the resignation of former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Deputy Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori, is now presiding over his first National Working Committee meeting in his capacity as Acting National Chairman.

Dalori, along with several NWC members, is currently meeting at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

The Monday meeting is expected to review recent developments within the party and formulate an official position.
