Osimhen Breaks Record In Serie A

Super Eagles and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen has broken the record of being the highest Nigerian scorer in the history of the Italian Serie A

Osimhen’s 8th goal of the season against Atalanta on Saturday took his career league tally to 32 goals in just 60 games.

Benevento striker, Simy Nwankwo was the previous holder of the record with 31 goals in 101 games while former Super Eagles and Inter Milan forward, Obafemi Martins is the third-highest Nigerian scorer in the history of the Italian topflight with 28 goals.

Osimhen has been in red-hot form since returning from a muscle injury on October 16th against Bologna, scoring in four straight league games including his first club hat-trick against Sassuolo on October 29th.

The 23-year-old joined Napoli from French Ligue one side Lille for a club-record 75 million euros in the 2020/2021 season.

Since his big-money move to Italy, Osimhen has been steadily building his reputation as one of the most prolific young strikers in Europe.

He scored 10 goals in 24 games in his debut campaign before following it up with 14 goals in 27 appearances in his second season.

Overall, he has scored 37 goals in 74 games in all competitions for Napoli while recording 11 assists.

Arsenal legend, Paul Merson, has handed his old club two signings to make in the summer.

Merson wants Arsenal to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez and a new midfielder.

“I would get a centre forward this summer, I would go for Julian Alvarez,” Merson said on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast.

EPL: Wayne Rooney Picks Most Improved Player This Season

Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, has picked the Red Devils defender Luke Shaw as the most improved player in the Premier League following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.

Speaking on his BBC podcast, Rooney said, “I think, for me, Luke Shaw. I think Luke Shaw has been the most improved player this season.

“I know he is an experienced player now, but I think his level this season has been much better than it has been in recent seasons.

“People might look at Kobbie Mainoo but I don’t think he’s improved. It was just the fact he wasn’t playing under the former manager so it wasn’t good or bad.”

EPL: Maresca Signs Three-year Contract To Replace Guardiola At Man City

Former Chelsea and Leicester City manager, Enzo Maresca has signed a three-year contract with Manchester City.

Maresca will now replace Pep Guardiola, who took charge of his last game on Sunday – a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, wrote on X on Tuesday: “Enzo Maresca has already signed a three-year deal as Manchester City’s new manager.
