Take Decision Without Consulting New Okaghele At Your Peril, Odionwere Warns

Elder Onaiwu Osagie, the Odionwere of Ayen community in Uhunmwonde Local Area of Edo State has warned that anyone who take decision without consulting the newly-appointed Okaghele (youth leader) and Bush Inspector of the community will face the consequences.

The 90-year-old Odionwere who gave the warning, Monday, at the occasion of the appointment of the duo noted that being the first appointment he’s making, he expects everyone to cooperate and work with them in moving the community forward.

Enobakhare Parker Omoruyi was appointed as Okaghele while Monday Ajayi was appointed as Bush Inspector of the community.

He said, “Since I become the substantive Odionwere of this community, this is the first Okaghele and Bush Inspector I will be appointing. I, therefore, urge everyone to cooperate with them. Anyone who therefore takes any decision as regarding this comminity without taking permission from these two persons is on his own.”

In his acceptance speech, the newly-appointed Okaghele, Enobakhare Parker Omoruyi promised to carry everyone along in maintaining peace and order in the community as expected of him.

He said being the person saddled with the responsibility of maintaining peace and order, he will need mostly cooperation from the youths in achieving this.

“All what I am after as the Okaghele is peace and progress of my community. I am appealing to the youths to cooperate with me so we can experience the peace we all desired and attain the progress we all wish for our community,” he added.

On his part, the newly-appointed Bush Inspector, Monday Ajayi urged all and sundry to maintain peace and follow instructions laid down by elders of the community who made the appointment.

“We need peace in this our community. We need progress too. So, I urge everyone to follow instructions laid down by the elders of our community. We don’t want violence. We should therefore all comport ourselves in a peaceful manner in this comminity,” he said.
