He said if the president could put policies in place and muster the political will to secure our water bodies, prevent the indiscriminate dumping of waste into it before the end of 2030, our aquatic life will be safeguarded.

Comrade Orekha added that the country is famous for signing treaties with various countries and organisations but lacks the political will to implement them, stressing that such has been one of the banes militating against the country which must be corrected if the nation must move forward.

Orekha stressed that in order to minimise the pollution of our water bodies, the indigenous people should be trained on how to protect their source of water as the government cannot be everywhere at the same time.
